Garment Care - How do I properly wash and care for the fabric?

At OA, we value sustainability and quality. Each of our prints have a story and we want each garment to live the longest life possible.

All fabrics are pre-washed before production. These are some steps we have picked up along the way that will make sure all your pieces stay beautiful and vibrant for longer.

Care labels from OA ORIGINALS COLLECTION are made of recycled polyester. 

 

Wear More, Wash Less - It is better for both the clothes and the environment. Our garments do not need to be washed after every wear, and instead suggest airing or steaming between wears to keep your garments fresh. If you can, spot wash areas with marks over washing the whole garment.


Cold Water - Cold Water uses less energy and is better for the life of your garment as it’s more gentle and will reduce fade. We recommend using a cold, delicate cycle and washing garments alone on their first cycle. Be cautious not to leave your items wet in the washing machine post wash as this can cause dye run. 


Hang Dry - Hang your items and avoid the dryer to hold the garments shape. It saves electricity and avoids fabric deterioration.


Steaming & Ironing - We recommend steaming your garments if you are able to as it is kinder to the fibres of your fabric. Alternatively, you can hang your items in the bathroom as you shower to let them naturally steam. If ironing, turn items inside out to not iron directly on the print, as this can cause colour fade.


Repair - We’re happy to look at any OA item that needs repair to see if it’s something we can fix. As each OA repair is assessed on a case-by-case basis, we will advise about the fee when evaluating your garment.

Please make sure your item is clean before handing it off to us or mailing it in or the item will be returned to you to wash.

Product Information

How can I tell what size I am?

Sizing varies between our items, so we recommend using these tools to better determine your ideal size:


• The Product Measurements Table and Size Guide can be found on every product page by selecting the Size Guide tab. Measurements are provided in both centimetres and inches, while the garment is laying flat. Some measurements (i.e. waist, chest, etc.) have already been doubled, factoring in the full circumference. You can compare these measurements to similar pieces you already own.


• Additional style and fit details are included in the Details tab on each product page.

Will you be offering more sizes?

We offer sizes XS - XL in select styles. As we continue to grow, we hope to become more size inclusive and offer more size and fit options.

A design/ size that I like is sold out. Will you be getting more in?

As we source our fabrics and produce each design in small quantities, designs may sell out quickly. We do replenish some of our bestsellers occasionally and notify all our users through FB, IG and email notificationsYou can sign up to our mailing list/waiting list on our website to keep a lookout for them.


Due to the nature of online shopping, items may occasionally be restocked after customer returns and exchanges are made, so please keep checking back on our website.

Do you offer alterations?

We offer minor alteration services at a small cost. As the construction of every garment is different, we recommend dropping us an email at info@oliveankara.com for more enquiries.

I just got my dress in Ankara and it feels a bit stiff. Will it soften over time?

Yes! Our clothes are made of African wax print fabric. When we buy the fabric, it often has a waxy outer-coating. This wax makes the fabric stiff. Our fabrics are all pre-washed, but after a few wears, your dress will feel much softer and hang more naturally.  

Your Delivery Options

Our commitment - Eco-Friendly Packaging

OliveAnkara is committed to providing the most responsible and clean shipping services possible. All orders will be packed in a reusable cotton dust-bags (some of the fabric cut-offs from the production of our clothing are turned into dust bags) placed in our reversible boxes. These boxes were designed with reusability in mind. Reversing each box gives you a second box that can be used in any way. We have begun shipping all our products in certified home compostable, fully biodegradable shipping labels and mailing satchel partly made from plants. These mailer bags and stickers are sourced from The Better Packaging Co.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, OA offers free standard shipping domestically on all orders of a purchase value over SGD $30.00, and free standard shipping internationally on all orders over SGD $159.

For express international shipping, select FedEx international shipping at checkout.


For Singapore deliveries, parcels will only be delivered up to one time. Additional re-deliveries will incur in additional charges.

Please ensure address and contact number provided is correct in order for courier to reschedule deliveries.

*If you have any special instructions, please remember to write it in the note box during checkout, and the delivery team will try to fulfil it with their best effort.


Please be aware that due to COVID-19 restrictions there could be delays on both domestic and international shipments.

How long will items take to reach me?

We will dispatch your stock item/s in 3-5 working days.

For International customers, free standard shipping estimated 5-14 working days. Depending on location.

FedEx International:  3 - 7 business days. Check Rates at checkout

Can I choose Showroom self pick-up?

Yes, available only for Singapore customers. There will be no charge for self pick-up from the showroom. The self pick-up lead time is 7 working days from the time you place your order. 

Can I choose express courier delivery?

For Courier express delivery, please do leave your number on your order where indicated so they can contact you to schedule a redelivery or leave your box in a safe place in case you're not in. 

Where’s my package?

You will be emailed the tracking number shortly after your order ships. To track your package, follow the tracking link in your email or input your tracking number into the carrier’s website.


If you see errors on the tracking page, have problems with your shipping address or need other assistance with tracking, please contact info@oliveankara.com.

Taxes and Duties

In most cases, any customs or import duties are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. You may be charged for handling fees and taxes as your order passes through customs. Any charges on a parcel must be paid by the person receiving the parcel.


OliveAnkara has no control over these charges and we can't tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country.


It might be a good idea to contact your local customs office for current charges before you order, so you are not surprised by charges you were not expecting.

Returns & Exchanges

What’s your return policy?

No Refunds, No exchanges on SALE items or products purchased with a promotion code.


Accessories such as Earrings, Tote Bags, Bags, Bucket Hat, Headwraps, Headbands, Scrunchies, Bangles and Gift Cards are not eligible for returns and/or exchanges.


We want to make sure you are happy with your purchase from OliveAnkara, and we understand that sometimes things just don't fit right/feel right.


We only accept returns for non-sale item(s). The item(s) must be returned in the original condition you received them. All items must be returned new, unworn, unwashed and with the tags still attached. All returns will be inspected upon receipt and any item in unsuitable condition will be sent back to you.


Kindly note that your refund will be credited back to you in store credits. We will only proceed with the return when we receive your item(s). You will be notified by email once your return has been received and processed. We are also unable to cover the shipping cost for your returns.

What is the timeframe to return my item(s)?

If you’re unhappy with your selection we accept returns and exchanges that comply with our policy within 14 days (within Singapore) or 30 days (Internationally) from the date you receive your shipment.

I have received a defected/wrong item. What should I do?

We apologise for sending you the defected/wrong item. Please drop us an email at info@oliveankara.com for the return procedure.

How should I send the items back to you?

When returning unwanted items, you will be liable for the cost of posting it back to us. We recommend any returns posted are sent by recorded delivery as we cannot accept liability for items that do not reach us. 

Shipping charges are none refundable.

How will I be refunded?

Once we have processed your return parcel, a refund will be made within 30 working days in the form of Store Credit.

We’ll send you an email once we have received the item(s) and your store credits has been processed with your Store Credit Code.

Custom duties and sales taxes are non-refundable.

What is a store credit? and how to use it?

Store credits will be issued in the event of any exchange of regular price items, which can be used to offset against a new order.

Store credits have 6 months expiry dates.

Store credit can only be utilised in a single transaction, and any remaining balance will not be refunded to you via cash or store credits.

Orders purchased with store credits are not valid for returns/exchanges.

Store credits cannot be transferred to another account.

Store credits are non-refundable. 

Custom-made / Pre-order items

All Custom-made and pre-orders are final. Custom made and pre-orders can not be returned, refunded or exchanged. As these are custom items that were made specifically for the customer, and incredibly time-consuming to create one unique piece, we cannot absorb these items back into our regular inventory. 

Do you do custom orders?

We do Cheongsams and Baju Rayas custom orders only.

How to make a pre-order?

Select your size then press the button ‘pre-order’, the product will then be added to your cart. You can continue to shop the collection or you can checkout with just the pre-ordered item in your cart. All pre-order items will take 2-4 weeks to be delivered to you.

Face masks

Due to hygiene and quality reasons, all face mask orders are final. Face mask orders cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged.
